Tournament Poker Strategy – Middle Stage Play
Things can get very tricky in the middle stage play. Most, if not all, of the players at the table want to become famous and build their reputations for solid tournament play. On the other hand, a lot of players’ attitudes probably get quo fast when they get close to the bubble. Tight players tend to tighten up near the bubble, so you can say that most players with poor tournament records end up playing very conservatively near the bubble.
When getting to the middle stages of a sit and go tournament it is probably best to stick with your solid tournament game plan and not to make any sort of move. If you are in the blind and there is a raise in front of you, just call it to see the flop. Do not make any sort of move pre-flop in the middle stages unless you have a hand. If you make a raise and miss the flop, many times your opponents will fold and you can take the blinds.
However, once you get to the middle stages, you might want to mix up your play a bit. For instance, if you have been playing tight and no one particularly close to you for a few rounds, you might want to open up a bit and play some more hands. If you find that most of the players are playing tight, you can loosen up a bit. If you find that most players are playing “tight”, you can loosen up a bit.
The point is: once you get to the middle stages of a sit and go tournament, the best advice is to not make any sort of noise. You should not cheer when you win a hand, or indeed, you may want to do so if you have a good hand. Instead, try to stay quiet and see how the other players react. Don’t shout words at the table or anything. Your reactions may stress out the players in the chat box.
If you have managed to stay to the middle stages of a sit and go tournament without making a hand, then you will probably be in a position where a lot of players are praying for a low hand. Once at this point, it is definitely worth taking a shot at the pot. Most of the players at the table will probably have gone into a bit of a slump and may just want to get out before they see anything else. You can take advantage of this by playing with a wide range of hands. In other words, don’t be predictable. If you are sure you have a very good hand, then go for it. Stay tight and patient, and you will see some nice payouts.
A lot of players will concentrate on whether or not they have a good hand when playing bola88 on the internet. Whilst for most people, winning a hand of poker is all about the money, the hand you played is just as important. If you manage to choose a good hand or hands to play, you will undoubtedly have a much better chance of winning more pots. If you are not sure whether or not to play a hand, you can always let your opponents know, and in a bid to get a particular hand, you can raise, re-raise, and even go all in. If you have a weak hand, you can try staying in the game and see how you get a decision to play. However, it is important to realise that going “all in” will essentially result in “all-in” unless you have a very strong hand. If you’re certain you have the strongest hand, you can use this to your advantage to try and get a small piece of the pot.
